This travelogue provides a description of my photo safari to Kenya along with my favorite photos and highlights of this once in a lifetime trip. While not intended as a travel guide, you will learn about the savanna ecosystem of Kenya and East Africa and the wildlife that lives there. Whenever possible, I provide recent information about the status of this exceptional habitat and the attempts to preserve it.
I was fortunate to have experienced much of this before recent reductions in wildlife habitat and the resulting decrease in wildlife populations. Kenya has done an exceptional job of protecting wildlife in several parks and reserves because they have recognized the economic impact that tourism has had upon their economy.
In East Africa, the opportunities for photography are endless for amateur and professional photographers alike.
While a wildlife safari in Africa may be an expensive undertaking, it will provide a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget.
